blogger-recognition-award

A massive thank you, to Shannon from MSnubutterflies for nominating me for The Blogger Recognition Award.  As a new blogger, it means so much to me that other writers are enjoying my blog.

thank-you-note

  6. Let each blogger know that you have nominated them.

How my blog started

I decided to start a blog for a couple reasons.  Firstly, I have aways enjoyed writing – usually for myself (I have a lot of embarrassing diaries from my teenage years hidden away!).  Secondly, a few years ago, my body started making the shift from relapsing remitting MS to secondary progressive MS – and with that shift came a whole host of new symptoms and experiences.  I thought that starting a blog would be a good way for me to talk about my feelings, hoping it would be a kind of cathartic experience.  I was completely right, ‘getting it all out’ really is a kind of therapy for the soul.  Along the way I have ‘met’ many other spoonie bloggers and have lots of messages from others saying how much it helps them to read my blog.  For me, this makes it all worthwhile.

Advice for new bloggers

As I only started this blog in March, I am probably not the best person to give advice – I still have A LOT to learn about the blogging world!  However, I would encourage new bloggers to read others’ blogs, to connect with others and to write fearlessly and about anything you want.  There is always going to be someone going through the same things that you are, who will gain so much from know other people are in the same boat.

These are the bloggers that i would like to nominate for the Blogger Recognition Awards – they are under no obligation to participate:
